Learn to draw a bison thanks to illustrator Michael Wertz (how-to video)

In my book, Golden Gate Park, An A to Z Adventure, the letter “B” is for bison. How could it not be given the long and fascinating history of bison in the park?

Bison were brought to the park in the 1890s with all kinds of other zany animal attractions (kangaroos, emus, moose… there was no San Francisco Zoo yet!). Bison were almost extinct, but the park’s breeding program helped bring bison back from the brink.
